My son is getting married in March.?

I am 55, 5'7" & 10 lbs overweight but hide it well because I am tall. . My hair is golden blonde, cut in a short style. The dress has to be to the floor because it is a night wedding. Any suggestions on where to look on-line, the style I should look for and what the color of the dress should be. It can't be pink or blue because those colors are being worn by the bridemaids & the mother of the bride.

if you can't wear the wedding colors, which being a large part of the wedding party i couldn't imagine why you cannot, go with the color that brings out your features best, or that you feel the best in.

try looking online at dillards, penneys, macy's, or any mainstream department store that also sells online. if it's an evening wedding and absolutely must be floor length, stick with a simple a-line, which flatters just about every figure, overweight or not.

First of all, Congratulations. Such a wonderful blessing, to live to see your child's wedding. May you be bestowed with many more blessings in your lifetime. And, to answer your question, something as important as your dress to your son's wedding, I would not look on-line. I would go to your favorite stores, and start trying on dresses. Find a store where the sales clerks are helpful and have time to spend with you. They can tell you what you look nice in, what color goes best with you, and help you stay within your budget. They can also help you with accessories, and even make-up. I think Macy's or Burdines (same as Macy's) often has quite a selection of clothing, with good sales people. And, if you don't like or trust the salesperson, move on. thank them and go somewhere else. there are probably many stores in your area that you can shop at.
