No it sucks. All straighteners totally fry your hair unless they are ceramic and ionic. Like Chi and Ginalli Milano they are WAY more expensive but necessary.

I don't know anything about the conair straightener but a great straightener is the chi, which is kind of pricey but you can by a ceramic tools flat iron and it work almost as good as the chi and it has the floating plates that will make it easier for your hair to slide through.
