Dying Your Hair with kool-aid???

How do you die your hair with koolaid?? My daughter is in a play this summer. For her part she wants to get reddish highlights. I told her there was no way she was highlighting her hair. She now wants to die it with kool-aid. Will it work??? How do you do it??? If you can I would appreciate step instructions. Thanks! :]

I have medium brown hair and I dyed my hair red with Kool-aid for years.

Mix it into conditioner (enough to make it creamy) and let it set on your hair for as long as you can stand it, at least an hour or two. I did my whole head and would wrap my hair in plastic wrap and put a shower cap on and sleep with it on over night. I don't think that's necessary, but that's what I used to do.

It won't magically turn your hair bright red, it only stains it a reddish tint. Be careful not to get it on your skin because it will stain it red and it takes some scrubbing to get it off.

I decided to go blonde once I got tired of the red. My hair ended up hot pink, and even stripping didn't get all the color out. I wouldn't reccommend trying to lighten any hair stained with kool-aid "dye".

If you're not sure about the kool-aid you could always try temp hair dyes that slowly wash out, or get spray in color that washes out after one shampoo.

I don't really believe you can do that, and it probably won't stay for long at all if you can do it. Try googling it, or asking the play director. Good luck! Tell your daughter to have fun!
