Sims 2 design question?

I was on sims 2 website and I saw a picture of a sims who hair was 2 colors. One of them was blond but with black lines in it. I was wondering if someone could tell me how that is done or if you have to buy something to do it. Thanks

you change the colors of hair by using the bodyshop. it comes with the sims 2. go to start/EAGames/latest sims 2 that you own. you should find the body shop there. then open it up go to create and select the hair that you want to edit and give it a name then exit the screen that has you import the hair and go to load creations you should be able to load the hair there once that is done open up a program such as paint, photoshop , or whatever you have similar and go to mydocuments/eagames/sims2/projects locate the file that you want to edit then open each of the files to get a handle of what your working with. if the file that you open has only white areas that is not what your looking for. but if the file looks like it has a hair color then presto that is what your looking for. experiment first by adding colors places then save go back to your body shop and load the hair once more. you should see a change depending on which hair age you edited. the default model is adult so adjust the age according to what file you edited. i know this might be a bit confusing but if you need more help go to www.modthesims2.com they have tutorials for editing stuff in the sims 2 such as hair,clothes,accessories,etc. hope this helps.

everything i just told you to do is completly free

A lot of times people download custom content from outside websites and from the sims2 website. and I think most of the content is free. I have never personally done it though.

i download custom content and that is where i get hairs that look such as you described. The best downloads are from modthesims2, PeggySims2, The sims resource.

all the sites i mentioned have free sections, except for modthesims2 everything their is free. You can also create your own custom hair in Body Shop but i personally have never done that :]
