Daughter needs to earn money?

Homecoming is approaching at my daughter鈥檚 school and she wants a lot of stuff for it, but it鈥檚 starting to add up. What kind of chores should I have her do to earn all this stuff she wants? So, far she鈥檚 got a dress鈥t was one that I bought a couple of years ago for $210.00, I鈥檓 having it altered by a seamstress to fit her and it鈥檚 going to cost $45.00. She also wants:

Hair: 25.00

Nails/feet done: 65.00

Accessories: 30.00

Tickets for homecoming: 40.00

Pictures: 45.00

Spending Money: 40.00

So, everyone knows these are the monetary figures she鈥檚 given me鈥he tally is 290.00!

My daughter is 15 approaching 16.

Sounds like about a week worth of pay for the average 40 hr week. Pick household chores that she doesn't usually take care of. Have her do some yard work, wash all the family cars, If you feel generous you can tell her that one hour of harder labor will count for two hours of pay. Give her a list of easy jobs and hard jobs and let her pick till she has worked the equivilant of 40 hrs. Will be a good lesson for her to know how hard some people have to work for money and see what it is like to get paid by the hour.

Whoa if she's spending that much on homecoming I'd hate to see the prom bill.
