How do I make my curly hair less dry?

Okay, well I'm half black, and half white. My hair has lots of finger sized ringlets, that I think could look good if they were not so frizzy. My hair is medium length (down to my shoulders).

I usually work in shampoo really good, then rinse it out. I put in lots of conditioner (like the size out two packs of ketchup) and put it in. While it's in, I brush my hair (with a regular Conair brush) VERY good, 'til you can just run it through, and then I rinse it out. It looks pretty nice when I get out of the shower (the curls, I mean. I don't like how it's flat on my head when I get out) but after a while it gets really dry. I usually style it by taking all the hair from the front part of my hair and pulling it back, and leave the rest out. Sometimes, I just let it all out, and by the end of the day I look like the lion king. Lol, sorry, that was corny. I wash and condioting my hair every day, and I don't use any hair products. The best way to find the best products for your hair is to try them all. That would be pretty expensive but go over to a friends house and use some of her stuff. See how it works, and just keep trying new things. Hair may work with products from this company and not that company....it's all trial and error.

If I can suggest something, I would suggest you try a hot oil treatment....for a cheaper way to have great soft and silky hair with less frizzies, warm up some olive oil (regular cooking stuff) in the microwave and massage it into your hair while it is dry. Wrap it up in a warm towel from the drier and sit for an hour or so. Maybe give yourself a facial at the same time. Then get in the shower, and shampoo out all the oil (because water won't get the oil out--oil and water don't mix) and then condition your hair. Viola! Beautiful silky hair.
