I have dark blonde hair and I want to try to dye my hair black, can I do it without messing up?

I'd like to just try something temporary but I've never dyed my hair before.

I am an ex-stylist with 13 years experience and I can honestly say - DON'T DO IT YOURSELF! Go to a color specialist and spend the money - interview stylists before you allow one to work on you - get feedback from some of their clients - go in and watch them work - because the damage that chemical applications can do to your hair can be really fierce and hard to undo - for example - I read one suggestion that you try a shampoo out product like a rinse - did you know that in some shades of blond a shampoo out dye will suck into the hair cuticle and NEVER WASH OUT - and the shade it turns when you try to wash it out if you are trying to go from blond to black is GREEN! Gross bruise green! I can't tell you the number of young girls and guys I've had come into my salon needing color correction after trying to "do it themselves" - and you end up spending more on correction than you would have to just let a pro do it in the first place! So interview some stylists and go pro! Good Luck!

Try a wash in wash out dye, it will look nice but its gonna look quite bad when the blond starts growing back, you can buy spray dye, like the one you use at halloween, you could do that as that washes out straight away and then at least if you dont like it you wont of ruined your hair.
